QUALIFYING PROCEDURE: 2010 IRONMAN 70.3 ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP
Background:The 2010 Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship (Thailand) will have two divisions:
1. The Championship Division
The Championship Division waves will go-off first.
Asia Pacific Championship titles, age group awards and Clearwater Qualifying slots will be awarded to athletes entered in the Championship Division.
2. The Open Division
The Open Division will start after the last Championship wave.
Athletes entered in the Open Division are not eligible for awards. Open Division results will be posted at the Awards Banquet.
QUALIFICATION FOR THE 2010 IRONMAN 70.3 ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP1. CHAMPIONSHIP OPTION ONE: TRANSFERRING FROM OPEN ENTRY
Age group athletes who register in the Open Division may transfer their entry to the Championship Division by competing at any Ironman 70.3 race anywhere in the world (includes the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore) and they:
Finish in the top 50% of their age division or Finish in the top 3 positions in their age division
Entered athletes may transfer from the Open to the Championship Division at any time prior to September 30 , 2010. Athletes qualifying into the Championship Division in races held after September 30th will have 5 days from the date of the qualifying race to transfer their entries.

4) Race where qualification was accomplished
2. CHAMPIONSHIP OPTION TWO: QUALIFYINGUntil September 30, 2010, athletes who win their age division at any Ironman 70.3 race worldwide may enter the race under the "Championship - Individual" category. During registration, you will be asked to name the Ironman 70.3 race that you won.
*Age group winners at Ironman 70.3 Taiwan or other races that are held after September 30th will have five days after the qualifying result to register online.
3. CHAMPIONSHIP OPTION THREE: WILD CARD
Athletes who finish in places 2-5 in their age division at any Ironman 70.3 race may request a Wild Card Entry. Wild Card entries are at the discretion of the race committee.

PRO ENTRIES
50 slots will be reserved for pros.

Automatic Pro Qualifiers
Pros who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd at any Asia Pacific 70.3 event are Automatic Qualifiers and may enter into the Championship Division within 5 days of the qualifying result
Wild Card Qualifiers
Remaining pro slots will be offered to interested pros by invitation.
RELAY ENTRIES - QUALIFICATION TO THE 2010 IRONMAN 70.3 ASIA PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIPThe top 5 teams in each relay division at any Asia Pacific 70.3 event are automatically qualified and may enter the Championship Relay Division with 5 days the qualifying result. During registration under the "Championship - Relay" Category, teams will be required to name the Ironman 70.3 race and place in their division in which the team achieved the qualifying result. There is no Open Relay Division.
The Race Committee reserves the right to offer wild card entries to relay teams.
