Triathlon is a unique sport where each of you entering the 2009 Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore will compete alongside the very best of the best. You never know – you may even have time for a chat!
As at the turn of the New Year, the 2009 field is once again filling rapidly, with competitors from all over the world looking to make the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore THE EVENT to kick-start their triathlon season!
How big is the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore? Well, even last year’s runner up, and newly crowned Ironman 70.3 world champion, Terenzo Bozzone has credited this race as one of the best. ”I raced Boise, Eagleman, Kansas, Vineman, Timberman and (the Aviva) Singapore 70.3’s and all of them were put on to an international level, had exciting courses and great people running the show.”
If Terenzo joins us in March the race would be the biggest in the world in terms of and elite field.
Right now the reigning Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander and 2007 Champ, Chris McCormack are set to go head to head against every former and reigning Aviva Ironman 70.3 winner in Olympians, Simon Thompson and Reinaldo Colucci.
And Yvonne van Vlerken the fastest woman on the planet over the Ironman distance is set to mix it up a little with reigning Aviva champ, Bek Keat, and inaugural winner, Belinda Granger. Adding in fourth place Hawaii Ironman finisher Erika Csomor, the women's field looks set to be the most international and most competitive women's field in Ironman 70.3 history!
To throw in another reason to look forward to race day on 22 March 2009, we are proud to reveal, for the first time, the 2009 Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore Finisher Top!
Till the next issue, the entire Hi-Tri Team wishes you the very best for both new years and safe training leading to a sensational season ahead!
Train safe and race hard.
